JESSICA SANCHEZ, DEANDRE BRACKENSICK, & CANDICE GLOVER REPRISE”IT DOESN’T MATTER ANYMORE”!
Candice Glover may have been cut during Hollywood Week on this past season of American Idol, but her group performance with Season 11 Runner Up Jessica Sanchez and her boyfriend 8th place finalist Deandre Brackensick was one of the highlights of the entire season!
When you make the top 10 on American Idol, you get to hit the road on a North American Tour. Candice went to a recent show, and caught up with her former group mates backstage where they reprised the infamous cover of “It Doesn’t Matter Anymore”. Their particular Hollywood performance probably sealed the deal with Jessica and Deandre to go on to semi-finals, but Candice was cut for some reason. After listening to this, I’m kind of glad that the AI judges will be replaced this year because when you cut talent like THAT….something is WRONG!
Jessica is in the studio working on her Interscope Record’s debut album with Toby Gad. I need a studio recording of this to be on her project!
So if you’ve been following me on twitter, or peaking at this here blog you know that Jessica Sanchez was my favorite contestant on the 11th season of American Idol. Even though, the season ended with her in second place next to the much less talented Phillip Phillip my support for this girl won’t stop. I’ve been watching AI since I was 11 years old, each season! I can honestly say that Jessica Sanchez was the best contestant on American Idol EVER!
After reading several blogs post their favorite performances of the season on AI. I’ve decided only to post my top 5 performances of Jessica only. I’ve enjoyed every time she hit the stage, but these are my PERSONAL favorite. (These only include her solo stage performance on idol, but her group performance with Joshua Ledet and Hollywood Group performance including Deandre Brackensick are both honorable mentions.)
5. “I Will Always Love You”
For many, this was Jessica’s breakthrough moment however I had already been a fan weeks before she did this performance. Her Breakthrough performance for me was the first time I saw her during Hollywood group week. However, the video was viewed over 5 million times on youtube…more than any contestant of the seasons videos (keep in mind she didn’t win.) It reached my top 5 because it is one of the most vocally hard songs to sing, and for her to be able to do and do it extremely well was impressive. It was better than impressive, it was amazing.
4. “Everybody Has A Dream”
This performance of Billy Joel’s “Everybody has a Dream” was probably the most underrated performance. It was kind of praised, yet still swept under the rug next to the bigger performances. I loved this performance because it had a gospel vibe to it, and it showed a bit of her artistry as she kind of flipped the song. It’s the song I play the most out of her studio recordings from the show.
3. “You Are So Beautiful”
This spot was a toss up between her performance of “Try A Little Tenderness”, but “You are So Beautiful” won when I watched them both again. If I had to sum up this performance in one word, it would be captivating. She took her time on this song which took you on an incredible ride. An all around vocalist is someone who can belt like she can, but also have these tender moments. It showed just how talented she was, and I loved it.
2. “And I’m Telling You”
For me, this was the most SHOCKING thing Jessica did on Idol. Before this performance night, I knew she was going to do this song and I knew she could handle it. However, I did not know she was going to MURDER the way that she did. It went above and beyond my expectations. Not to mention that she even went ABOVE this again, when she did it with Jennifer Holiday herself at the finale. To me, this is the performance which is the reason why she should have won. There are not to many people outside of Jennifer Holiday, Jennifer Hudson, and now Jessica who can perform this song the way it should be done with the emotion power that it should have. THIS WAS INSANE! Best vocal on Idol, ever!
1. “Stuttering”
So, this WAS NOT Jessica’s best vocal performance on American Idol. It was my favorite though! Why? Because I love this song! This performance got Jessica ELIMINATED, for one reason…America did not know this song. This record is an urban record and wasn’t the correct choice for the American Idol audience. Jazmine Sullivan is one of my favorite singers, and from her last album “Love Me Back”…”Stuttering” is my favorite so I was thrilled that she was going to sing this. I didn’t expect elimination after doing it, but I did think bottom 3. Thank god for the judges save! This is the type of music Jessica Sanchez should be making as a artist, it was an inside look into who she is a recording artist and It made me excited to hear her album. It was definitely my favorite Sanchez performance of the season. Plus she looked fly as hell.
Super vocal prowess to the infinity and beyond! THAT deserves that ass-lifting ovation of the sitting-for-the-past-few-weeks-over-Jessica-Sanchez’-performances judges. Great great Jessica Sanzhez!
I’ve been working on this blog post about my finale predictions for American Idol, ultimately saying that my favorite Jessica Sanchez probably won’t win.
FUCK THAT, AFTER THIS SHIT.
SHE HAS TO WIN!

In response to my previous post (I’ll start off which contestants I would want to end up in the finals), Jessica Sanchez and Joshua Ledet are my personal Top 2. Why? They have the voice and they’re versatile. They can competently perform almost any genre thrown at them.
As much as I love Hollie and Phillip, Jessica and Joshua just undeniably dominate most of the time. Unfortunately, a lot of people hate on them because they believe they’re the judges’ favorites. Joshua? Probably. Jessica? I don’t think so. If anything, she’s one of the most criticized. She’s being praised when she does a good job, but at the same time, she’s received a lot of negative comments as well.
Don’t get me wrong, all four of them deserve to win it all. They’re all undoubtedly talented. It’s just that, I personally want someone who’s capable of doing almost everything, who can take risks and play with their voice, who can perform sufficiently well enough at any genre, someone extraordinary.
Now, on who I think will win the competition… I think it’s going to be either Phillip Phillips or Hollie Cavanagh. Either way, I know all of them will be successful.
This is my pick for the top 2 as well, but do you want to know WHY it won’t happen this way…
Jessica and Joshua share a large portion of their fan base. Who is that? The R&B/Soul fans. People who end up voting for two people, always end up voting for one person more than the other (even if they think they are splitting).

Jessica Sanchez - “Stuttering”
from Jazmine Sullivan’s “Love Me Back” album
How can American Idol continue to fail with the best vocalist winning the competition? This girl was eliminated (then saved by the judges) this week. Idol has one more shot this season, and if Jessica is not in the finals there is no need for them to continue the show.
TRP SAYS - AMERICAN IDOL IS ABOUT DONE: They need to change up the rules of voting, because America is obviously DEAF. I mean why else would Nicki Minaj be at the top of the Billboard Charts. I say America chooses the bottom 3, and the judges eliminate each week.
Jessica Sanchez fighting for a spot in the top 24 on American Idol last night!

If this girl does not win American Idol, they might as well cancel the show. There is no other VOCALIST (because Idol did start out as a singing show), that can top this in the competition right now. NOBODY!
